STACK Infrastructure Statement on Community Support and Emergency Coordination in Anticipation of DOE Section 202(c) Order

Denver, CO — January 24, 2026 STACK Infrastructure (“STACK”), the digital infrastructure partner to the world’s most innovative companies and a leading global developer and operator of data centers, today issued the following statement regarding its commitment to supporting communities, utilities, first responders, and government partners as extreme cold weather is forecast across large portions of the United States and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) prepares to exercise its emergency authority under Section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act.

“Extreme weather events place significant demands on communities and the essential services they depend on. The anticipated DOE Section 202(c) Order reflects the importance of coordinated action across the public and private sectors to support public safety and maintain critical services during periods of elevated risk,” said Brad Hicks, Senior Vice President, Utility of STACK Americas.

“STACK is a committed partner to the communities in which we operate and to the utilities, grid operators, first responders, and government leaders responsible for emergency response and infrastructure reliability. In preparation for an anticipated DOE 202(c) Order, STACK is working closely with our related partners and stands ready to take appropriate operational actions, as directed, in support of broader emergency response efforts.”

Reliable digital infrastructure underpins the communications and information systems that first responders depend on to carry out their responsibilities during extreme weather events. The infrastructure developed to support data centers and the broader digital infrastructure ecosystem delivers benefits beyond investment in, jobs associated with, and taxes derived from individual facilities. Investments in the grid required to serve data center load, whether in part or in whole, drive upgrades to transmission and distribution systems, substations, and related electric infrastructure, strengthening system reliability and supporting public infrastructure modernization benefiting surrounding communities, particularly during periods of extreme weather.

As this national weather event continues, STACK teams remain actively engaged with public partners to support effective coordination as conditions evolve. STACK will continue to monitor developments and respond as appropriate while supporting the essential digital infrastructure relied upon by communities nationwide.
